President of the Board of Directors
I have had the incredible opportunity since early 2017 to serve on the Board of Directors to open up a brand new charter school in Hayden, Idaho. I have served as the Board President since November 2018. As a member of this board, I have been able to use my community connections to inspire others to participate in this school’s opening through donations of time and money. Opening a charter school, takes many hands, and miracles as well. We have certainly had our share of both in preparing to open this school in the fall of 2020.
About Hayden Canyon Charter
Hayden Canyon Charter is an expeditionary learning school based on EL Education principles and curriculum. Through expeditionary learning, students will have the opportunity to learn through active engagement, peer mentoring, and expeditionary experiences.
Hayden Canyon Charter School will be built in the Hayden Canyon development on land donated for the purpose of the school. It will open in the fall of 2020 in the first phase of a three phase building project. It will be surrounded by hiking trails, a community center and fields all available to for the use of the students of Hayden Canyon Charter.
